1. RESPONSE:
The controller was temporarily taking cash for personal purposes with the intention to repay the company but up to the time of examination, no repayment has occurred to cover up cash shortages. COMMENT:

There are cash advances on file however, we notice that the cash advance forms are not signed by the authorized personnel and we notice that the cash advances were not yet paid by the controller ACTION:

To avoid personal use of cash, the Vice President for Finance must sign the cash advance of the controller. The controller is not allowed to prepare Bank Reconciliation.
