Medical marijuana should be legalized.
Medical marijuana, also known as medical cannabis, is “the use of cannabis and its constituent cannabinoids, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), as medical therapy to treat disease or alleviate symptoms”as defined by Google's define tool. According to Anne Harding, medical cannabis can be prescribed to help treat muscle spasms from multiple sclerosis, nausea from cancer chemotherapy, poor appetite and weight lost by chronic illness, such as HIV, or nerve pain, seizure disorders, and Crohn’s disease. According to Harding, the FDA has even approved THC, which is in marijuana, to help treat people with nausea and improving appetite. The FDA avoids the cannabis aspect by making the THC available via prescription of Marinol and Cesamet. I, for one, believe that medical marijuana should be legalized and I am not the only one.
