The internet is a global system of complex interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet protocol suite in order to link several billion devices worldwide. The internet involves innumerable servers and cables. The concept of the internet was developed in 1970 at the University of California, Los Angeles. Originally the internet was only used by government and university facilities, but it soon grew to become a more widespread throughout other industries and then finally to individuals. It is said to be the fastest growing mode of communication in the world. It took a mere four years for the internet to reach 50 million users.
