Article I. Name
This organization shall be named Canes Investing Association at the University of Miami. Canes Investing Association, may also be referred to as CIA.

Article II. Statement of Purpose
Section 1. Guiding Principles
The purpose of Canes Investing Association is to provide undergraduate students with a foundation of knowledge in the area of investing. Additionally, Canes Investing Association will help prepare students for careers in finance with exposure to professionals who deal with investments on a day-to-day basis.

Section 2. Objectives
The objectives of Canes Investing Association shall be to listen to representatives from different financial institutions speak of their experiences in investing. Canes Investing Association shall also hold career-focused events for its members.

Article III. Affiliation Statement
This Organization will not be affiliated with another organization.

Article IV. Responsibility
Canes Investing Assocition shall comply with all University of Miami policies and procedures, including but not limited to those policies set forth in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook, The Student Organization Handbook, as well as local, state, and federal laws.

Article V. Membership
Section 1. General Membership
Membership of Canes Investing Association shall be open to all University of Miami students in good Academic Standing who have paid their Student Activity Fee. Canes Investing Association shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, handicap, age, sexual orientation, or political and religious affiliation in any of its policies, procedures, or practices. Non-voting memberships may be extended to interested faculty, administrators, staff members, and alumni of the University. 1

Section 2. Active Membership
A. Active Membership in Canes Investing Association is defined as those students who attend a minimum of half the meetings of the semester

2 B. Benefits of Active membership include the right to vote and the ability to attend and participate in any Canes Investing Association function.

Article VI. Executive Board
Section 1. Positions
i. Finds accomplished business men and women throughout the greater Miami area to speak to Canes Investing Association about their experiences in investing ii. Delegates each meeting, introducing the question and answer session with the speakers. iii. Maintains the relations of the Canes Investing Association with the University of Miami and works with the COSO Liaison B. COO

i. Coordinates the meetings and researches prospective speakers ii. Assists the CEO in the operations of the Canes Investing Association C. CFO
